HUMANKIND - Stories of belonging, participation and transformation
    Jun 26, 2025 Projects
Text by: Momoakademiet We understand that a root cause of the global crisis is living out the dream of separation in an interconnected world. BEING HUMAN, we always participate with our very beingness, whether we are conscious of it or not. Which means that awareness and conscious participation matter! With this training, we invite youth workers to co-write new empowering stories: HUMANKIND.

    I AM NATURE
    Sep 28, 2024 Projects
In France, over 14 days, we support and guide 36 young adults as they reconnect with the planet and themselves. Our approach focuses on non-formal education, informal learning, and building knowledge and skills in regeneration, intercultural exchange, and community living. These serve as tools for learning, exchanging ideas, and fostering cooperation, creativity, and innovation at all levels of the project. Young people created this youth exchange for young people.

    I CREATE
    May 31, 2024 Projects
By implementing this project, we wanted to create an experience for young people where they could express themselves through art, get to know themselves better, and connect with each other as a group. The project aimed to inspire youth to reconnect with their inner selves through creativity, cultivate greater self-awareness, and develop empathy for others and the world around them. Our initiative addressed pressing issues such as discrimination, hate crimes, and harassment, which remain significant challenges in European society.

    I REVIVE
    May 9, 2024 Projects
Many young people living in urban areas today live a life disconnected from nature and are therefore unaware of the extent of environmental crises and how they threaten their mental health. The disconnection from nature can cause young people to face emotional struggles such as stress, anxiety, and hopelessness. Through this project, we wanted young people to strengthen their connection with nature and build environmental awareness. We aimed to help them build a healthy connection with both the planet and their inner world.

    Jan 4, 2024 Projects
Climate change is a complex, multidimensional challenge that affects social, economic, and environmental systems, leading to a deterioration in quality of life. As stated by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (2021), “We are facing an unprecedented crisis, and it will take huge efforts to reverse the changes that the planet is undergoing.” The Doughnut Economy offers a new economic vision that recognizes society’s dependence on the environment for survival.

    Back To Roots
    Oct 3, 2023 Projects
This youth exchange was created by a group of youths from different partner countries who were mindful of the environment and greatly concerned about climate change. They gathered for this youth exchange to set the base for leading a future without fossil fuels and rich soils, a future where everyone lives in a sustainable world. The youth exchange gathered like-minded youths to explore topics that offer solutions to climate change, such as permaculture, natural building, and solar energy, and to connect and combine these three.

    Bridges for Plastic
    Aug 30, 2023 Projects
The Bridges for Plastic project brought together Catfarm residents, local neighbors, and visitors to reimagine plastic waste as a source of creativity, collaboration, and awareness. Throughout the project, we collected plastic waste around Catfarm and the surrounding area of Poussan using a cargo bike. We then recycled the materials with our Precious Plastic machines and transformed them into new, useful objects. What was once seen as waste became a symbol of community empowerment and environmental care. See the article from Precious Plastic here .

EcoLife - DIY Handyskills & Community Living
    May 9, 2023 Projects
This youth exchange was motivated by participants' curiosity from a 2020 youth exchange hosted at Catfarm. They were deeply fascinated by the solar panels that powered the community, and how they sustained themselves entirely from the Sun's energy. The participants were also intrigued by the organization and management of the community, as well as the human relations practices that helped them resolve conflicts and communicate effectively.

    Go Grounding
    May 2, 2023 Projects
This youth exchange was a follow-up to the previous two “Go Green Go Gardening'' youth exchanges we hosted at Catfarm in 2019 and 2020. It was inspired by input from several participants who wanted to experience a deeper correlation between permaculture and being grounded and connected to the Earth, as a purpose for this gardening/agriculture practice. Hence, this project focused on combining gardening and mindfulness practices to inspire future generations to lead a healthy lifestyle and be more conscious of the environment.

Trash Magic: Youth Exchange about Waste Management
    Sep 5, 2022 Projects
The “Overshootday” is a notion that defines “when humanity has simply exceeded what Earth's resources can provide in 12 months. In 1970, it was recorded in December. In October 1990. Last year, we passed it in August! This year on July 29th… That means, today, we need about 1.6 planets to support humanity’s demand on Earth’s ecosystems. The major consequences of this capture lead to the exhaustion of our planet.
