We are a mission-driven organization working in the fields of regenerative transition, education, and community development. Legally, we are a foundation under Dutch law (stichting), which means we are a non-profit legal entity registered in the Netherlands, without members, and do not distribute profits. All resources are reinvested into our projects, educational activities, and long-term mission.
In practice, we design and implement educational programs, community-based projects, and collaborative initiatives that support regenerative ways of living, working, and organizing. We work with individuals, communities, and partner organizations locally and internationally, both in-person and online.
Our physical headquarters is in the small town of Oostzaan, north of Amsterdam. We operate locally, internationally, and online.
Until August 2025, the Valparaíso ship has been the community's home base. Since then, the captain and crew have built a new life on the shore above Amsterdam, in Oostzaan.
The ship still exists physically, and its spirit is very much alive, woven into the Adventures of the Valparaíso's storytelling and creative spark.
There are several ways to get involved, including volunteering, internships, long-term collaboration, partnerships, and participating in our projects and educational activities. You can explore all options on our Join Us page.
Yes. Some roles and projects can be done remotely, while others require in-person presence. This depends on the specific activity and project phase. Remote possibilities are clearly indicated in our calls or discussed after you apply.

Yes. As a non-profit, we do everything we can to ensure we have sufficient financial resources to keep doing what we love, but sometimes it can be challenging. Donations and funding can help tremendously.
